Dr. Lartey has been a trailblazer at several stages of her leadership journey. In 2011, she made history as the first female Presiding Member of the then Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly, a position she held with distinction until 2013.
Her leadership journey continued with her election as the 2nd Vice President of the National Association of Local Authority (NALAG) in 2011, followed by her groundbreaking appointment as the first female General Secretary of the NALAG in 2013. In 2020, she added another historic achievement by becoming the first female in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be elected as a Member of Parliament for Krowor Constituency.
