With an impressive career spanning over two decades, she has become a renowned figure in conflict management, relief and disaster management, peacebuilding, children’s rights, human development, women’s empowerment, and community service.

Professional Background

Dr. Lartey’s professional journey is a testament to her versatility and commitment to societal progress. She has served in various capacities in both national and international organizations, demonstrating her prowess as an academic, legislator, women’s rights activist, politician, local government practitioner, and development expert. Notable roles include being the ECOWAS In-Country Expert on the Children on the Street Project and serving as the Executive Director for the “Global Initiative on Rights & Development” (GIRD).

Educational Attainment

The foundation of Dr. Lartey’s expertise does not lie in her professional experiences alone, it also rests on her robust educational background.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Central University, a Masters degree in Human Resource Development, and an MPhil in Leadership from the University of Cape Coast and the University of Professional Studies, Accra, respectively.  Her academic journey culminated in a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Legon, Institute of African Studies, where her Ph.D. thesis focused on the “Relationship between Traditional and Local Authorities in the Management of Natural Resources: Case Studies of Beaches in Accra.”
